It's less a question of what I am, and more a question of how others perceive me.
Good. Now you're getting it.
What do I do with the knowledge that others will never see me as I am? That they'll always see their ideas of what I should be over what's in front of them at that moment?
You live. You let them have you as you are regardless of what they choose to see. Be the self that exists only in each moment, forever gone the next; you cannot get back the selves that you never were. You can only be what you are and have them take it as they will. It is not your job to sort out their perceptions or align them with reality. And what reality is there beyond the subjective? Let them disagree. You know what lies inside.
